House Hunters: New Jersey Edition
It's not front page news anymore, but some of you may not know that Jerry has accepted a job at Montclair State University in New Jersey. We'll be leaving Maryland with mixed feelings this August, probably.
And so we begin the hunt to find a place to live in the very expensive New York City suburbs (of New Jersey). We've made three trips now... and who knows how many more will be needed. I don't know how folks pick a house in a weekend! We did make our first offer on a house (a short sale), and you can check it out here: http://tinyurl.com/pn98gj
Wee looked at the house a couple time, for pictures you can see:

I was in the Newark airport with a short layover flying to Berlin the same weekend you were house shopping. I thought of you and wanted to phone but then I realized I lost your number when my cell was flushed down the toilet. But I promise to come visit!
Be sure to check one of my favorite websites - the blog "It's Lovely! I'll Take It!" http://www.lovelylisting.com/ for some alternative housing opportunities to consider. =)
Congratulations and good luck!
I think this doesn't sound as much fun, but you might want to rent first in the area so you have an opportunity to get to know the area better and choose a home you'd like the most. Nothing like buying a home without completely knowing an area or trying to do it long distance! Good luck.
What an adventure! I'm sure you guys will be sorely missed from D.C., but it's always fun to move to new places and meet new people (I speak from LOTS of experience). Good luck on your search!
